Thayir Vadai (Yogurt Vadai)

Ingredients:
·         2 cup Urad dal/Black gram
·         1 tbs Rice flour
·         ½ tsp Black pepper
·         1 medium sized Onion finely chopped
·         2 Green Chillies finely chopped
·         Small piece Ginger finely chopped
·         Small bunch of Coriander finely chopped
·         1 cup Yogurt
·         Salt to taste
·         Oil for deep frying
Preparation:
·   Wash and soak the urad dal for 2-3 hours.
·   Take the soaked urad dal in a blender, add little water and grind it finely.
·    In a bowl take the grinded urad dal, rice flour, onions, black pepper and mix it well.
·    Keep it for 10 minutes.
·    In the mean time in a separate bowl, take the yogurt, add 1 cup of water, finely chopped ginger, green chillies, salt, mix it well and keep it aside.
·    In a separate deep bottomed pan, take the oil and heat it.
·    Wet your fingers, take little batter and using your thumb make a hole in the middle of the batter and slowly drop it in the oil.
·    Turn the vadai both sides for frying and when it turns brown and crisp remove it from the oil and place it in a paper towel for few minutes so that the excess oil drains.
·    As the vadai is still hot immerse it in the yogurt mixture .
·    Tasty Thayir vadai is ready to serve.
