Jeera rice


Ingredients:

2 cups of Basmati rice
1 medium sized Onion finely chopped
1 Bay leaf
1 Cinnamon stick
2 Cloves
½ tsp. Cumin seeds
Salt to taste
2 tbs Oil/Ghee

Preparation:
Wash the rice and keep aside.
In a pan, heat oil, add bay leaves, cinnamon stick, clove, cumin, onion and sauté till the onion turns light brown.
In a rice cooker, take the rice, add the above seasoning, salt and 4 cups of water and cook for 10 minutes (Microwave rice cooker – 18 minutes).

Check for the salt.

Tasty Jeera rice is ready and serve it with any type of veg/non-veg curry.
