Crab Coconut Gravy

 

Ingredients
1 lbs Crab
1 large Onion finely chopped
2 medium size Tomato diced
2 Green chillies cut in lengthwise
1 cup Coconut milk
2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
¼ tsp. Turmeric powder
2 tsp. Chilli powder (desired amount)
1 tsp. Coriander powder
1 Bay leaf
1 Cinnamon
½ tsp Fennel seeds
Few Curry leaves
Little Coriander finely chopped
Salt to taste
2 tbs Oil

Preparation

Wash the crab and add little turmeric powder to the crab.
In a pot, heat oil, add bay leaves, cinnamon, fennel, curry leaves, onion, ginger garlic paste, tomato, green chillies one by one and sauté it for few minutes.
Add the Crab, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and cook it for 10 - 15 minutes until the crab is cooked well.
Add the coconut reduce the flame and cook for few more minutes and turn off the flame.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Crab Coconut Gravy is ready to serve with rice.

Crab Masala Curry

Ingredients:
·         1 lb Crab
·         1 large Onion / 15 Shallots finely chopped
·         2 medium sized Tomatoes  diced
·         2 Green chillies cut in lengthwise
·         1 tbs Ginger Garlic paste
·         2 tbs Tamarind juice
·         ½ cup Coconut milk
·         2 tsp Chilli powder
·         2 tsp Coriander powder
·         ½ tsp Turmeric powder
·         1 tsp. Fennel seeds
·         Few Curry leaves
·         Little Coriander finely chopped
·         2 tbs Oil
·         Salt to taste
Preparation:
·       Clean and wash the crab.
·       In a heavy bottom pan, heat oil, add fennel seeds, curry leaves, onion, green chillies and sauté till the onion turns light brown.
·        Add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes and sauté it for few minutes.
·        Add the crab, tamarind juice, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt  one by one and sauté finely.
·        Add little water and cover the pan leave it in reduced heat for 10 -15 minutes.
·        When the crab is fully cooked add the coconut and boil it for few more minutes.
·        When the masala thickens turn off the heat and garnish the curry with coriander.
·        Crab Masala Curry is ready to serve with rice.

Crab Curry (Crab Kulambu)

Ingredients:
·         1 lb Crab
·         1 large Onion chopped
·         2 medium sized Tomatoes  diced
·         2 Green chillies cut in lengthwise
·         1 tbs Ginger Garlic paste
·         2 tbs Tamarind juice
·         ½ cup Coconut milk
·         2 tsp Chilli powder
·         2 tsp Coriander powder
·         ½ tsp Turmeric powder
·         2 Bay leaves
·         1 Cinnamon stick
·         Few Curry leaves
·         Little Coriander finely chopped
·         2 tbs Oil
·         Salt to taste
Preparation:
·    Clean and wash the crab.
·    In a heavy bottom pan, heat oil, add bay leaves, cinnamon stick, curry leaves and sauté for few minutes.
·    Add the onion, green chillies and sauté till the onion turns light brown.
·    Add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes and sauté it for few minutes.
·    Add one by one the crab, tamarind juice, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and sauté finely.
·    Add desired amount of water and cover the pan leave it in reduced heat for 10 -15 minutes.
·    When the crab is fully cooked add the coconut and boil it for few more minutes.
·    Turn off the heat and garnish the curry with coriander.
·    Crab curry is ready to serve with rice.

Crab Rasam (Crab Soup)


Ingredients:
·         1 lb Crab
·         1 medium sized Onion finely chopped
·         2 medium sized Tomatoes  finely chopped
·         1 Green chillies cut in lengthwise
·         ½ tbs Ginger Garlic paste
·         1 tsp Chilli powder
·         1 tsp Coriander powder
·         1 tsp Black Pepper powder
·         ¼  tsp Turmeric powder
·         1 Bay leaves
·         1 Cinnamon stick
·         Few Curry leaves
·         Little Coriander finely chopped
·         1 tbs Oil
·         Salt to taste
Preparation:
·    Clean and wash the crab.
·    In a heavy bottom pan, heat oil, add bay leaves, cinnamon stick, curry leaves and sauté for few minutes.
·    Add the onion, green chillies and sauté till the onion turns light brown.
·    Add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes and sauté it for few minutes.
·    Add the crab, chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder, salt one by one and sauté finely.
·    Add 3 -4 cups of water and leave it in medium heat for 15 -20 minutes.
·    When the crab cooked well and rasam/soup boils well turn off the heat and garnish with coriander.
·    Crab Rasam/Soup is ready to serve with rice.

Crab Fry



Ingredients:
·         1 lb Crab
·         1 medium sized Onion cut finely in lengthwise
·         1 medium sized Tomatoes  finely chopped
·         1 Green chillies cut in lengthwise
·         ½ tbs Ginger Garlic paste
·         2 tsp Chilli powder
·         1 tsp Coriander powder
·         ¼  tsp Turmeric powder
·         1 Bay leaves
·         1 Cinnamon stick
·         Few Curry leaves
·         Little Coriander finely chopped
·         1 tbs Oil
·         Salt to taste
Preparation:
·    Clean and wash the crab.
·    In a wide bottomed pan, heat oil, add bay leaves, cinnamon stick, curry leaves and sauté for few minutes.
·    Add the onion, green chillies and sauté till the onion turns light brown.
·    Add ginger garlic paste, tomatoes and sauté it for few minutes.
·    Add one by one the crab, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and sauté finely.
·    Add ½ cup of water and leave it in reduced heat for 15 -20 minutes.
·    In between stir the crab, when the water dries well and the crab is fully cooked turn off the heat and garnish with coriander.
·    Crab fry is ready
·    If you want spicier add 1 tsp of black pepper powder however it is optional.
