Ingredients:
2 cup Basmati rice
½ cup Moong dal (Soaked in water for 1 hour)
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 medium sized Onion finely chopped
1 small Tomato finely chopped
1 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Garam masala
1 tsp Coriander powder
Few Curry leaves
1 tbs Ghee/Oil
Salt to Taste.
Preparation:
In
a rice cooker/pressure cooker, take the washed rice, moong dal, cumin seeds,
salt and add 6-7cups of water and cook it.
In a separate skillet, for seasoning, heat the ghee and add the onions, tomato,black pepper, curry leaves,garam masla, coriander powder and fry it for few minutes.

Add
the above seasoning to the cooked rice mixture and mix well.
Check
for the salt.
Serve the kichadi with Coconut chutney/Peanut
Chutney/Sambar.
